Development Proposal v1.1

Autegra Platform

Full Lifecycle Vehicle Ownership for Africa

Prepared by The Brick Dev Studios
Prepared for Jamark Autos
Date March 28, 2026
Phase Phase 1 (MVP)

Executive Summary

This proposal covers the design and development of Autegra, a full lifecycle vehicle ownership platform for Africa. Phase 1 delivers Vehicle Verification, Inspection, Trusted Listings, and Escrow as a production-ready web application, followed by a mobile application 2-3 months after web launch.

Autegra is not a marketplace. It is the operating system for car ownership. Every vehicle on the platform carries a digital identity built from verified data sources, platform inspections, and ownership records. No platform in Africa currently owns the full lifecycle of a vehicle. Autegra will be the first.

The Problem

Nigerians spend billions on vehicles every year. The process of buying, owning, and selling a car is broken at every stage.

Before purchase: Buyers have no reliable way to verify a vehicle's history. Accident records, title fraud, odometer tampering, and undisclosed damage are widespread. Existing platforms (Jiji, Cheki, Cars45) only facilitate listings. They do not verify anything.

During ownership: There is no centralised system to track maintenance, inspections, or service history. Vehicle records exist on paper or not at all. When the car is eventually sold, the buyer has no way to know what happened during the previous owner's time.

At point of sale: Trust between buyer and seller is low. Payments happen in cash or through informal channels. There is no escrow. No protection. No record.

Autegra solves all three problems with a single platform.

03

The Solution

Autegra gives every vehicle a digital identity. From the moment a VIN is checked on the platform, the vehicle's record begins. Every inspection, every transaction, every ownership transfer is logged permanently.

3.1 Vehicle Verification (VIN System)

The platform's backbone. Three layers of vehicle data:

Layer 1: Free VIN Decode. Any visitor enters a 17-character VIN and instantly gets the vehicle's make, model, year, engine, body type, transmission, and country of origin. No signup required. This is the entry point that brings users to the platform.

Layer 2: Paid History Report. A comprehensive vehicle history pulled from international databases. Includes accident records, title brands (salvage, flood, rebuilt), odometer readings, auction photos, ownership transfers, recall status, and import history. Users pay using a wallet/credit system with bulk pricing discounts.

Layer 3: Proprietary Database. Every paid report is permanently transferred into Autegra's own database. Every inspection, service record, and ownership transfer on the platform enriches the VIN record. Over time, this becomes the most comprehensive vehicle history database in Africa. Data auto-refreshes every 3 months.

3.2 Inspection System

Car owners and buyers book inspections through the platform. Verified inspectors and mechanics conduct inspections using a structured, step-by-step digital form covering exterior, interior, engine, transmission, electrical, suspension, brakes, tyres, and documents. Each section includes photo uploads and condition ratings.

All inspection data is permanently attached to the VIN record. Two options available: inspector comes to the vehicle, or owner brings the vehicle to an inspection center.

3.3 Trusted Marketplace

Vehicles are listed with verified VIN data and inspection reports attached. Buyers see the full story of a vehicle before making a decision. Sellers with completed KYC and inspected vehicles get verified badges that build buyer confidence. This is not a random listing board. Every vehicle on Autegra carries proof.

3.4 Escrow Payment System

The platform holds funds securely between buyer and seller. Buyer funds escrow from their wallet. Funds are held until the buyer physically receives the vehicle and confirms satisfaction. If the buyer raises a dispute, both parties submit evidence and an admin resolves the case.

The escrow system has 9 defined states (Initiated, Funded, Inspection Requested, Pending Confirmation, Completed, Disputed, Resolved, Expired, Cancelled) with full audit trails, countdown timers, and automated reminders. Commission is deducted automatically when funds are released to the seller.

4.2 Key Technical Features

Payment Integration: Paystack (Nigeria), Flutterwave (Ghana and other African countries not on Paystack). Wallet/credit system with bulk pricing tiers. Payment gateway transaction fees are built into the platform pricing and paid by end users, not the client.

VIN API Integration: Multi-provider routing based on vehicle origin. US-origin vehicles routed to VinAudit or equivalent. European-origin to carVertical or equivalent.

Notifications: Email (via Resend), SMS (critical), WhatsApp (for active numbers), push notifications (in-app). Automated escrow reminders at Day 3, 4, and 5 of confirmation window.

Multi-Country: Nigeria at launch, Ghana as second country. Architecture supports adding countries, currencies, and languages without rebuilding.

KYC: Basic identity verification for sellers, mechanics, and inspectors. Government ID upload, selfie, proof of address. Admin review queue with approve/reject workflow.

Accessibility: WCAG 2.1 AA minimum across the entire platform, targeting AAA where achievable.

4.3 Beyond Phase 1: Revenue Growth Opportunities

The Phase 1 architecture is designed so that future modules plug in without rebuilding the foundation. Each module below adds a new revenue stream to the platform. Future phases are built only when Phase 1 revenue justifies the investment.

Each of these compounds the platform's revenue beyond Phase 1. They are growth milestones, not costs.

8.3 Revenue Share (Partnership Alignment)

The Brick Dev Studios is invested in Autegra's long-term success. To align both parties' interests, the developer participates in the platform's growth through a revenue share arrangement.

5% Of gross platform revenue
4 yrs From platform launch
Monthly Within 15 days of month end

Revenue share is calculated on all platform income: VIN report sales, escrow commissions, inspection booking commissions, and any other platform-generated revenue.

If the platform generates no revenue, the revenue share is $0. The build fee is the only guaranteed cost. This structure means the developer benefits only when the platform succeeds, ensuring both parties are working toward the same goal.

8.4 What is Included

Payment gateway transaction fees (Paystack/Flutterwave charges per transaction) are not a cost to the client or the developer. These fees are built into the platform pricing and paid by end users as part of each transaction.

8.5 What is Not Included

Revenue Projections

Conservative estimates for Phase 1 revenue streams only. These are for discussion purposes and not guarantees.

Monthly Total$1,197$4,172$7,954

9.3 Build Fee Recovery

User VolumeAnnual RevenueMonths to Recover $22K
1,000 users$14,36419 months
3,000 users$50,0646 months
5,000 users$95,4483 months

9.4 Revenue Share Impact

3,000 users$50,064$2,503$209
5,000 users$95,448$4,772$398

At these volumes, the developer's revenue share is modest relative to the platform's total revenue. The client retains 95% of all platform income while the developer has a reason to provide ongoing support and strategic input.

9.5 Growth Beyond Phase 1

These projections cover Phase 1 revenue only. Future phases add entirely new revenue streams: Fleet Management B2B ($6,250/month from 100 companies alone), Vehicle Valuation Engine (data licensing), Import Assistance (per-transaction fees), and Financial Services (commission on insurance, loans, and warranty products).

Each of these compounds revenue significantly. Future phases are investments funded by Phase 1 success, not additional costs imposed on the client.

Intellectual Property

Source code for the Autegra platform is the intellectual property of the client (Jamark Autos) upon full payment of all milestone fees. Until full payment is received, The Brick Dev Studios retains ownership of all code and deliverables.
